'Hancock' Muscles His Way To #1

After preview screenings on Tuesday, Sony's Hancock easily landed in first place on Wednesday with a $17.4 million gross. Disney's WALL-E was pushed into a distant second with $6.7 million.

With Hancock, Will Smith will easily continue his run of successful July 4th opening weekends and if the superhero flick continues at the pace it's going, it could hit the $100 million mark by the end of the weekend.

WALL-E should also have a strong July 4th showing, following its successful debut last weekend. The animated adventure dropped 12% from Tuesday to Wednesday and it was not harmed too much by the emergence of Hancock like other films in the top 10 were.

Wanted in particular seems to be dropping faster than it may have without Hancock in the picture. The assassin flick fell 28% from Monday to Tuesday and then another 22% from Tuesday to Wednesday. Although, it should still post a decent showing this weekend.

After opening on five screen last weekend, Kit Kittredge: An American Girl expanded to 1,753 on Wednesday and was able to finish in 6th place. The film should find a nice little niche among young girls (and their accompanying parents) who've already seen WALL-E and are looking for something new this weekend.

The Love Guru continues to fade quickly and it dropped to 9th place on Wednesday. The Mike Myers comedy was beaten by Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Sex and the City, which were released weeks before it.

Après des criblages de prévision mardi, Hancock de Sony a facilement
débarqué dans le premier endroit mercredi avec des $17.4 millions
bruts. Le WALL-E de Disney a été poussé dans un deuxième éloigné
avec $6.7 millions. Hancock, la volonté Smith continuera facilement
sa course du 4 des week-ends réussis d'ouverture juillet et si la
chiquenaude supere continue au rythme qu'elle va, elle pourrait
frapper le mark $100 millions vers la fin du week-end. WALL-E devrait
également avoir du 4 une apparence forte juillet, suivant son début
réussi le week-end passé. L'aventure animée a laissé tomber 12% du
mardi au mercredi et elle n'a pas été nuie trop par l'apparition de
Hancock comme d'autres films dans les 10 principaux étaient. Voulu en
particulier semble se laisser tomber plus rapidement qu'elle peut
avoir sans Hancock dans l'image. La chiquenaude d'assassin est tombée
28% du lundi au mardi et puis encore 22% du mardi au mercredi. Bien

Kittredge : Une fille américaine a augmenté à 1.753 mercredi et
pouvait finir dans le 6ème endroit. Le film devrait trouver une
petite place gentille parmi le jeune who've WALL-E déjà vu de filles
(et leurs parents d'accompagnement) et recherche quelque chose de
nouveau ce week-end. Le gourou d'amour continue se fanent rapidement
et il s'est laissé tomber au 9ème endroit dessus
