FLiXER is on Hiatus

As you can probably deduce, currently, all FLiXER staff are working on projects, and have been for awhile. That means a lot of new, dedicated content is not being posted - unless it's from our users (thank you!). But Flixer still works and is THE resource for finding local film people/equipment/locations/resources and patrons. It also means we could use some help with the site and are now looking for editor(s) to take over the site. So...

Are you a writer, editor or web developer? Do you enjoy writing about the Entertainment Industry?

We provide serious fame and/or DVDs in payment - lot's of DVDs to get rid over here. And if you're good, we'll also promote your stories with our awesome advertising mini-budget.

FLiXER is looking for writers and developers to delve into the movie and tv industry (and music) with an insightful, unique and enjoyable style. FLiXER is NOT a TMZ style celebrity site, so move along Perez.

If you're interested, and know the difference, between a C47 and a CAA (none really) then, you're the kind of writer we aspire to be, and want.

Eat Pray Love is an exceptional prescription for the unhappy in us all. A human odyssey in finding our better selves amid the billions.

The awful truth about happiness is how rare it really is. How quickly it can slip away, and how subtle it can be. No amount of romcom viewings is gonna change your level of happiness, if, in fact, it even exists. Searching for it can be an exercise in futility for some and/or a life-long journey for others. Is happiness a biological mistake? A side-effect of a conditioned response that has gained immense cultural importance? I hope not, but fear our human brain is far more lizard than bunny.

THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123 (2009) Weekly Pick + Review

The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009) Swordfish is back on the menu. Even in a fast-paced NY City, things can get faster if an actor takes a bunch of hostages to get his stalled career going...again. And Tony Scott is the Top Gun to handle this kind of movie. All grit and blur, unrealistic time-lines, governmental...er, govern-mental "move fast and appear as if you're doing something" action-packed "hostage in peril" yarn. Go Tony. Go Tony. Go fix that third act just a bit.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009) - Movie Review

Round two for Troy Duffy. Taking place right after the first, they didn't even have time to spend the $26K the first movie grossed. Somebody, somewhere is hoping it'll make more this time, but with 65 theaters, I don't know. Michael Jackson is the big elephant man this weekend, but those 3400 theaters are gonna be less full than Sony has deluded themselves to believe. Mischa Barton - 5150, 5151 Whatever It Takes...

Mischa's been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold (also known as a 5150) by the Los Angeles Police Department and is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, reports Access Hollywood.
